A poster on 'GIS-based
Analysis of Solar Electricity Potential' was shown by Meteocontrol
on the 21st European PV Conference from 4 - 8 September 2006 in
Dresden.
A map showing
the yearly average of daily sums of global horizontal radiation for
Nigeria was derived from the SoDa service at Ecole des Mines de Paris.
ENVISOLAR services were presented by Enecolo and Meteocontrol on the
21st Symposium Photovoltaische Solarenergie from 8 - 10 March 2006 in
Staffelstein. Sandra Stettler from Enecolo AG received a laudatory
mention for her SPYCE poster (paper)
and Meteocontrol presented a poster about
'Validierung eines Solarstromprognosesystems' (paper).
Another paper
on PVSAT-2 validation results was presented in Staffelstein as well.
The value adding company Flyby and the Italian utility ENEL joined the
team in spring 2006 as market player and key customer, respectively.
Their focus is the use of solar irradiance short-term forecasts for the
management of increasing photovoltaics share in the Italian electricity
grid.
A talk about solar irradiance measurements from satellites was given
for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sonnenenergie (DGS) in Jan 06.
The SPYCE service was presented at the 2nd workshop 'Photovoltaik
Modultechnik' organised by TÜV Rheinland in Cologne, Germany on
1-2 December 2005.
A successful Market Review
was
held at the European Space Agency (ESA-ESRIN) in November 2005.
